Choose Your Own Adventure meets Youtube

Choose Your Own Adventure meets Youtube

Last year Youtube started allowing deep links embedded in videos.  A few people took advantage of the feature at the time, but the full potential is now being exploited, as seen in these two new videos:

  • “The Murder” by Chad, Matt & Rob is a truly interactive adventure.  Three guys trying to film a schlocky superhero indie film get caught up in a real murder.

Comics are my backstage pass to snooze fest, but the way this series is stylized is awesome.  It reminds me of the transitional shots in “The Warriors.”  And the comedy is excellent.

Just like the Choose Your Own Adventure books, each decision the viewer makes in every scene of “The Murder” dictates the plot.

  • “Youtube Street Fighter” by Patrick Boivin is a simulation of the Street Fighter video game series reworked in high quality claymation.  The links on the side of the video correspond to what would be the controller.  It’s fun and the stop motion combo moves are amusing and funny.

Make sure the settings in your Youtube account, under playback options, are set to always play high quality when available.  None of this would be the same if it were grainy and low resolution.
