The crime scene on Orange Ave at 2:37am on March 18, 2009. Seventeen minutes before, the black pickup truck on the right crashed into a car at the corner of Washington and Orange (very close to large groups of bystanders, including friends and me).  It fled the scene, sideswiped two bicycle cops then violently crashed to a halt into a car stopped at the Wall St traffic light. Police surrounded the truck and smashed out most of the windows with batons.  Then they smashed the driver’s face.  It was thrilling instant justice porn in 3d. Probably the first time I’ve been a proponent of police brutality.
