The pinnacle of human achievement
In this video filmed in late 2006, a dudebro eats four Chipotle burritos in under 25 minutes. Then runs a mile in under six minutes.
It’s newsworthy for three reasons:
- Four burritos (two chicken/two steak) is at least 4,000 calories, 160g of fat and 240g of protein and six pounds of mass. But it’s also 9,000mg of sodium. It’s abnormal he survived with his heart pumping so much salt.
- It’s an old video and is now featured today on the front page of youtube. It has around 10,000 views and will probably reach at least one million. If this was a scenario in which Chiptotle stumbled upon the video and then sponsored its exposure, it marks a super effective, credible and cheap way to use consumer-created campaigns. Peer to peer marketing works because they intrinsicly know what other consumers want to see, and how to simplify that message.
- When I was younger I hated dudebros until I observed them firsthand in their environment and noted the differences between dudebro and jocko. I then prided myself on becoming the anti-dudebro. This dudebro is simulating jocko status to become the anti-jocko. I commend him.
I am now geared up for Spring Break 2009.
