I was doing research into an event Ticketmaster is carrying in Alberta and I noticed something interesting. It’s a self-guided home and garden tour, and there’s a ‘no shoe policy’ at all of the six homes in the tour.
It’s funny how people without a no shoe policy can’t rationalize those with one, and vice versa. (Catch the pun?)
For me, taking off shoes is the one thing that separates my home from the outside world. All the grime is left at the door. The quality of a roommate in a carpeted house/apt agreeing on this topic ranks above everything else, including illicit drug use and whatever else usually prevents people from letting strangers move in.
