Being Sicilian, this is a really difficult confession for me.

There have only been two restaurants that have served me a meatball marinara sub I enjoyed (or even found acceptable)…. And both of them are chains.

The first is Subway. Great meatballs on honeyoat bread with provolone, a little spinach, green peppers, cucumbers, carrots, parmesan and oregano. The ingredient that makes me forget I bought this in a place that glamorizes public transportation is the tangy marinara sauce, which is founder Fred DeLuca’s mother’s secret recipe.

Sometimes I eat this while gazing at their wall ornaments, wishing I reclusively lived in a shack in Colorado in the 1800s, sifting and mumbling to myself.

Speaking of Colorado recluses, I have footage of a guy who owns a six storey tower in Genoa, CO. For a dollar he let us climb the tower and explore his “museum.” I’ll post that soon.
